The growing understanding of fascia - the connective tissue of the body - is transforming the way we view the body and what it takes to stay healthy. We know now that fascia plays a key role for not just our structural health and well-being, but for numerous aspects of our health and our ability to stay pain-free all life long.

The question is, how do we work with fascia in our yoga practice to keep it supple and healthy and to avoid the accumulation of tension patterns, which can lead to chronic pain?

In this 3-part online course, yoga therapist Yasmin Lambat takes us on a journey into the fascial system of the body and guides us through various ways to work with the fascia in our practice to support its healthy functioning.

We tend to approach our yoga practice with the idea that more is more. However, when it comes to working with the fascia, research suggests that more too much force can be counterproductive. To gain fascial release, gentle and intuitive movements are far more productive than intense movements or stretches that foster high pressure or strong sensation.

Learn Yasmin’s approach to Intuitive Myofascial release and how we can tap into the wisdom of the body for healing. Fascia is a rich a sensory organ, research shows, and this has great implications for a somatic approach to self-healing. Learn how to re-hydrate your fascia and nourish your nervous system using BodySensing, a prop-free, intuitive self-healing approach developed by Yasmin, which is based on mindfulness and embodied awareness principles.

Yasmin has used Intuitive Myofascial release in her work with students and clients to provide relief from chronic pain, inflammation and tension relating to stress and anxiety, arthritis and fibromyalgia. It’s a trauma-sensitive practice that can help release deep-seated patterns in the subtle fabric of the body.
